Search bookmarks

18 searches, your familiar shortcuts, and a portable setup for desktop Firefox.

Import all shortcuts

Download bookmark folder

  1. Download the file, then open Firefox’s bookmarks library: Ctrl + Shift + O (on macOS: Bookmarks → Manage Bookmarks).
  2. Choose Import and Backup → Import Bookmarks from HTML… and select the file.
  3. Use the address bar: g firefox, d Schmetterling, y jazz.

Creates one Search engines folder with all 18 preconfigured keywords. Import once; repeat imports can create duplicates. This adds bookmarks, not a database restore. Bookmark searches work without Sync, but cannot provide remote suggestions.

Want autocomplete?

Install the searches you use as OpenSearch engines instead (or alongside the bookmarks). Open an engine below for Firefox’s installation steps. Firefox requires confirmation for each engine; a webpage cannot silently install all engines or import bookmarks.

13 suggestion endpoints configured; 12 returned valid non-empty lists in testing. LEO is configured from Mozilla’s definition but returned 403. Images and Maps explicitly use general Google suggestions, not image/place autocomplete. Amazon needs a response adapter; no compatible endpoint was found for IKEA, DHL, or Pathfinder. See each engine for details.

For a mixed setup, download just the 5 searches without configured suggestions, then add the other engines individually. Use @g, @y, etc. as engine aliases to avoid bookmark-keyword collisions.
